This Master's Thesis studies the topic of smart cities and smart government. In
particular, it examines in a theoretical framework these concepts and the individual
aspects that make them up. Subsequently, smart government and smart city applications
are analysed, while good practices from the European and Greek experience are studied.
Regarding the methodology used, an extensive literature search was conducted in
scientific journals, as well as in other writings, which refer to issues of smart cities,
digital governance and sustainability. In addition, relevant studies related to the issue
under consideration were used, from which the good practices used were also drawn.
Finally, material from the internet was also used, so that the approach to the issue under
consideration is as up-to-date and comprehensive as possible.
