This thesis was carried out with the aim of studying and analyzing the effect of the psychological contract on the well-being and commitment of employees. The role of the transactional and relational psychological contract refers to the working relationships that develop between employees and the company and more specifically to their beliefs about the terms and conditions that govern these relationships.
The empirical research was conducted towards the end of the year 2022, where a structured questionnaire with closed-type questions on a graded scale was distributed to working company executives. Validly completed questionnaires were collected from 164 workers, who constitute the final sample of the research.
From the research results, it was found that the relational psychological contract positively affects work attitudes such as organizational commitment and job well-being, which in turn positively affect employee promise fulfillment. It has also been found that both the psychological contract and well-being of employees is affected by factors such as their age or work experience, which in turn is related to the situation in which an employee may be professionally. Finally, an important finding is that the majority of employees show well-being at work, at the same time when the indicators of the relational contract are high.
Therefore, based on the results of the research, the general conclusion can be formulated that the satisfaction of the psychological contract positively affects the well-being of the employees, and subsequently the work attitudes and the overall work performance.
