The role of inter-company training of employees in their professional development. Case study of IPTO S.A.

Abstract
This thesis aims to explore the inter-company training of employees in corporations, how in particular, and to what extent this educational activity can affect the productivity, efficiency and professional development of employees. Independent Electricity Transmission System Operator (IPTO) S.A. was chosen as subject of this study, one of the largest companies in Greece, with its workforce approaching 2000 people. IPTO is one of the most significant companies in the energy sector, as it is the only Transmission System Operator (TSO) operating within the country. The goal of the study is to link IPTO S.A's training activities with its employees productivity and efficiency increase, as well as the achievement of the company's strategic goals, with a detailed analysis of IPTO' S.A's employees’ inter-company training related issues.
