In view of the increasingly growing involvement of businesses and organizations in
project management, the following thesis was developed. In this thesis, a literature
review of the process of making rational decisions by organizations is carried out. The
concept of project management is outlined, with an emphasis on portfolio project
management, the process of project selection and evaluation within a portfolio,
leading to conclusions regarding the need for a holistic approach to project
management, selection, and evaluation.
