In this thesis, a reference is first made to the definition of the experiment and its objectives. Then statistical experimental design, its methods, principles and guidelines are defined, how experimental design has evolved over the years and how it has been used by various sciences.
The second chapter discusses the methods of analysis of experimental designs, analyses experimental designs with one or more factors and describes some types of designs (full 2k and fractional 2k-p designs).
The development of the third chapter is based on the study of the theory of order-of-addition experiments in an experimental design. In more detail, the full design and its properties are presented in the light of Pairwise ordering (PWO) of adding variables (components). An example of a PWO design for four variables is given, how through it more economical designs can be produced to save time and money, and a measure is defined that calculates the design efficiency (D - efficiency).
Finally, the fourth and final chapter develops a case study of a PWO design with four variables. From the total executions (treatments) of the full PWO design with four variables, several designs with fewer executions each at a time are selected and their D - efficiency is calculated, with the goal of finding the design with the fewest executions that most closely approximates the efficiency of the full design, where it is the best.
