This thesis examines the tourism industry in Greece and its impact on the country's economy, culture, and society. The study analyses the longitudinal incoming tourists in Greece, from its beginnings to the present day, and identifies the main factors that have contributed to its development and success. Through a comprehensive review of relevant literature and data analysis, the thesis explores the current state of tourism in Greece, including its strengths and weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. The study also assesses the role of government policies, stakeholders, and infrastructure in shaping the tourism sector in Greece and provides recommendations for future development. Through the Statgraphics statistical model, a forecast of inbound tourists to Greece is made for 2023. Overall, this thesis aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the tourism industry in Greece and its potential for sustainable growth and development.
