This particular thesis has as main objective to study the administrative policies of human resources in the modern healthcare environment and to evaluate the role of these policies in the management of the “burnout syndrome”, which is encountered with increasing frequency among healthcare professionals.
In the first chapter the importance of the appropriate management of human recourses within the workplace environment is noted. In the next chapter we evaluate the effect of these policies in the proper- everyday function of the different departments within the frame of a big healthcare provider facility, and how these policies can improve the productivity and the efficiency of the healthcare professionals. All the different issues and challenges that healthcare professionals deal with nowadays, are addressed. In the third chapter we analyze further the “pathophysiology” of the burnout syndrome among healthcare professional and we focus on strategies on how to avoid it, how to deal with it and to minimize its impact. It is clear that ‘’burnout syndrome’’ is an increasingly frequent issue in most work environments and it is the subject of an increasing number of studies. On the other hand, the field of human recourses administration is also expanding and growing and it can definitely play a role with its policies in minimizing the frequency of the burnout syndrome within professionals and to minimize the impact and the consequences of the syndrome within the healthcare facilities.
