Abstract

The purpose of this thesis is the financial analysis of an organization, namely the company Plastics of Thrace, which is one of the leading companies in the plastic production sector in Greece, having a significant international presence. After the theoretical approach to the issue of ratios, the Group under consideration is described in detail. In the second part of the thesis, an analysis of the Group's financial ratios takes place, where the economic value and performance of the Group is studied, while an extensive analysis and commentary of the ratios is made, comparing the Group's results with the rest of its competitors. The Group's balance sheets and income statements are used for this financial analysis, while the appropriate indicators used provide information on the Group's financial performance and a comparison of the respective figures with the Group's main competitors. This investigation shows that the company under consideration has managed and dealt effectively with the complex challenges that have arisen, while in almost all indicators it has outperformed Daios Plastics and underperformed Crete Plastics. With regard to the methodology used, it should be noted that extensive use was made of scientific journals and relevant literature, which relate to the analysis of the financial statements, as well as the analysis of the ratios. Furthermore, reports concerning the company itself were used, as well as updated information from the internet. In the second part of the work, the excel tool was used to calculate the ratios and to formulate the tables and related charts.
