The subject of this thesis is the profession of the Primary Education teacher, and to what extent it affects other aspects of their life. The subject is investigated through a bibliographic review of scientific articles published by the European Commission about the teaching profession in Greece and other parts of Europe, as well as through the analysis of the results of relevant research. First, the various educational systems found in the world are presented, their characteristics and then the duties of teachers are described in detail. An important part of this work is occupied by the description of the structure of the educational systems and their differentiation. Additionally, the working conditions of teachers in the educational systems of France, Finland and Greece are analyzed and described thoroughly. Finally, the research attempts to present an answer to the question of whether the teacher's profession is a career that provides social contribution, but also to examine the effects that this identification of professional life with personal life may bring, to the detriment of the latter.
