This paper examines the impact that distance education has on reducing the inequalities that exist in the education system of Greece. The work has a bibliographic nature. The first chapter presents the types of inequalities found in education, i.e. racial inequalities, inequalities of a social-economic nature, inequalities due to educational profiles or due to disability, as well as inequalities between types of schools (public and private). In the second chapter, there is an overview of the forms of distance education, which are divided chronologically, before and after the pandemic, as well as the differences by level of education. In the third and last chapter of the main part, the situation of distance education in the period of the Covid-19 pandemic is examined, and a systematic review of studies both abroad and in Greece regarding the reduction of inequalities due to distance education is carried out, with the work to be concluded with the chapter of conclusions.
