This paper investigates the views of Greek Primary and Secondary teachers, regarding the relationship between education and economic development, as well as the factors that shape teacher’s perceptions. A bibliographic review of the subject and quantitative research with a questionnaire through google forms are carried out. An analysis of the results is carried out and correlations are ascertained based on the Kendal coefficient. After analyzing the results and according to the perceptions of the teachers, it is found that education has a significant contribution to individual and social well-being and it is a key factor for the social and economic development of a society, as it forms responsible, thoughtful, and independent citizens. Also, the knowledge and skills that citizens acquire through education are key pillars of economic development and contribute to employment and wage setting. Important factors that shape the teacher’s perceptions are their engagement with social, educational, and economic issues, their participation in educational activities and their positive attitude towards the contribution of technology in the educational and productive process.
