AI (Artificial Intelligence) is rapidly emerging as an important solution to absorb potential
problems in healthcare industry and also as a tool to improve it. In this paper, an extensive
literature review takes place, aiming to explore the applications of AI in Healthcare using reliable
secondary data from books, articles and academic sources. Also, concepts such as Artificial
Intelligent (ΑΙ), Machine Learning (ML), Big Data Analysis (BDA), Deep Learning (DL),
NeuroLinguistic Programming (NPL), Optical Character Recognition (OCR) will be analyzed and it
will be examined how these relatively new tools can contribute to better quality and more
efficient health services. In addition, it will be examined whether Artificial Intelligence (AI), if it
will be used correctly, can rapidly upgrade all national health systems. Then the case study of
comparative AI applications in healthcare takes place where they were critically evaluated.
