This research was prepared in the framework of the postgraduate study program "Economics of Education and Management of Educational Units" of the Department of Economic Sciences of the University of Piraeus and aims to investigate the opinions and perceptions of teachers in primary schools regarding the influence of the gender factor of the school grew in the progress and advancement of the school unit in all aspects, but also in the advancement - of women mainly - in the administration of the educational sector.
For the needs of the research, a quantitative survey was conducted, and an improvised questionnaire was constructed by the researcher, which was distributed and completed by a sample of 42 participants. From the analysis of the data, as well as the bibliographic review carried out, it emerged that the concept of leadership is one of the primary factors of school improvement and efficiency, as it contributes catalytically to the successful work of educational institutions.
From the analysis of the research data, it emerged that the prevailing stereotypical perceptions of the effectiveness of the male gender over the female gender in school leadership are not supported and catalyzed. Most teachers in the sample stated that the effectiveness of school leadership does not depend on the gender factor but is a multifactorial phenomenon
