Strategic Human Resource Management practices, human capital development and employee engagement were examined as the competitive advantage in the banking industry in Greece. To formulate the appropriate competitive advantage through employees, credit institutions should focus primarily on Strategic Human Resource Management practices and human capital development. The organizations in the research sample, i.e., the 4 Greek banks proved to be among those organizations that are aware of the fact that human resources make a difference in the performance of the organization. The findings of the study suggest a linear relationship between dependent variable (Sustainable Competitive Advantage) and the independent variables (Strategic Human Resource Management Practices, Human Capital Development, Employee Engagement) at 1% level of significance.
