This thesis is an attempt to analyze the financial ratios of Bristol Myers Squibb and then compare them with Merck & Co.
This thesis will consist of two parts. The first part will develop the theory of financial analysis through the ratio method based on academic writings, journals and reputable articles. In addition, marketing tools will be used and a review of the literature related to the impact of acquisitions on the pharmaceutical industry will be conducted. In addition, SWOT Analysis will be used where the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities as well as threats that the pharmaceutical industry has been facing in recent years will be studied.
In the second part, a sectoral analysis of the global pharmaceutical industry market and a practical financial and non-financial analysis of one of the largest acquisitions of Bristol Myers Squibb will be carried out. Finally, a comparative analysis of Bristol Myers Squibb with the pharmaceutical company Merck & Co. for the years 2017-2021 will follow
