Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has had a major impact on education, which has had to operate in a very different way to meet the new challenges. Teaching was for a long time conducted at a distance and many pupils with special educational needs experienced severe adaptation difficulties. The purpose of this research is to investigate the views of primary school teachers on the contribution of distance teaching to the learning of children with special educational needs. To explore this issue, a survey was conducted using a questionnaire. 100 people participated in the survey, followed by a statistical analysis of their responses. From the teachers' responses it was found that distance learning can contribute to the education of students with special needs by improving their digital skills. The prevailing view in this regard is that distance learning can work in a complementary way to face-to-face teaching and in this way have a positive impact on the learning of children with special needs.
