In recent decades, school administration theorists have recognized the potential of Total Quality Management (TQM) in the field of education. In this context, many advanced countries are undertaking educational reform with the aim of adapting quality management principles to school management. Educational institutions conduct education, awareness and training programs in matters of improving the quality of educational organizations and changing the culture of education professionals. In the Greek area, the absence of a stable educational policy leads to a permanent educational crisis and by extension to ineffective educational services. The purpose of this research paper is to investigate the opinions of teachers working in public primary schools in Greece regarding the degree of implementation of principles and practices of Total Quality Management in their school units. In more detail, an attempt is made to evaluate the current situation in the country's primary schools with regard to the adoption of the principles of TQM in the administration and the educational process. The areas of application of TQM that are examined are school administration, the formation of the school climate and the teaching process. The sample of the research was 80 public primary school teachers and the data was collected using a questionnaire. The research results indicated that elements of quality management are found to a satisfactory degree in the school units, confirming the opinion of an effort for educational reform and restructuring with the aim of improving the quality in education.
