The purpose of the research was to investigate the relationship between job satisfaction and the
effectiveness of companies. In particular, the aim was to study the effect of job satisfaction on
the organizational effectiveness of a specific sector, that of Greek private banks. For this
purpose, a primary questionnaire survey was conducted, in which 129 employees of Greek
private banks participated. In conclusion and based on what emerged from the primary research,
it was found that the employees, or at least the participants in the research, do not seem
particularly satisfied with their work and this fact does not make them neither very dedicated
nor very efficient nor even particularly motivated, so as to pay special effort to increase the
efficiency of banks. As, in fact, they seem mostly dissatisfied with the intangible incentives
offered by the bank they work for, it seems critical and imperative that Greek banks "work"
more to ensure that more aspects of the job, than those currently satisfied, will be satisfied in
the near future. In this way, the job satisfaction of the participants will possibly increase and
thus their loyalty and performance and finally, by extension, the efficiency of the bank.
