The purpose of this thesis is to analyze the evolution of freights over time in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. For this purpose, the thesis includes an analytical literature review that describes and explains the reasons and causes for this increase, while at the same time describing the consequences and providing information about the perspectives on this subject, in the near future. The methodology chapter presents key features of the indicators used by the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, while based on the results from these indicators, the increase in freights is fully confirmed, which started immediately after the end of the strict restrictions due to the pandemic and has continued until today.
