In the present work an attempt is made to describe a standard that lays the foundations for the proper management of the various types of projects. At a time when most organizations are called upon to deal with the increasing demand for project management services, the margin of error has narrowed and international competition has intensified, this work seeks to identify the points where the strategies of organizations operating in Greece and execute projects converge with good project management practices set by international standards. After a detailed description of the ISO 21500 standard, an attempt is made through a targeted questionnaire sent to a specific audience to draw a safe conclusion regarding the compliance or non-compliance with the rules for the proper management of projects.
