In this dissertation, the definition of the virtual museum is investigated through bibliographic
studies and examines the current state of virtual museums on the Internet as society is moving in
the online world, with a continuously faster step with the audience of digital museums to grow
globally. Modern digital technologies contribute to the new character of museums in rescuing and
studying cultural heritage.
From the results of the survey and the completion of the implementation according to the
rapid development of the digital age and social networking combined with direct information to
the public in the time of information, the role of virtual museums is constantly enhanced and
strengthened by continuous user information. Through the integration of virtual museums on the
Internet, it is an inevitable evolution of the real museums for the reason that they are accessible
to everyone.
The Virtual Museum is generally considered to be a virtual complement to the Natural
Museum, however, taking into account the advanced technology that is currently offered, I wanted
to study if the virtual museum is possible to act as an autonomous museum. Museums are defined
as places that collect, retain and promote cultural heritage. They are also considered as
educational institutions as well as meeting areas with a final result to raise awareness of cultural
exhibits as they keep some rules design and visibility of exhibits where they can act as good
advertising of the real museum they represent (if any).
In this context, the study and development of a virtual museum with the possibility of
applying new design templates and results in the design and creation of an application of a virtual
Museum on War Virtual Museum. The study was mainly based on electronic literature and
scientific texts for the main goals of a museum and describes all stages of the process to create
an effective digital space by identifying its advantages and disadvantages compared to real
museums. The Virtual Museum, (Virtual Reality Application), was designed by zero and does not
correspond to an existing museum. The user when running the application can be browse into
the virtual museum and see information about the museum objects and exhibits. Implementation
of the application emphasizes the human-computer interaction.
The methodology followed and analyzed the steps to create the three-dimensional model
of the museum exhibits, a modeling software environment. It describes the process of creating
virtual environment and virtual browsing in appropriate software where future implementation
extensions are analyzed for a comprehensive digital application experience and the way they can
be fulfilled.
Finally, with the completion of the application, the user can browse into the virtual
museum, to know about the exhibits contained in this as well as the user interaction by applying
through special questions involved in the application so that the tour of the user requirements.
