Without a doubt, the shipping industry is one of the most important economic actors domestically and globally. In recent years it has become clear that all companies, including Greek shipping companies, are implementing modernized technological means, which are either more or less conservative, in order to stabilize their dynamic presence in the market and at the same time to develop competitive advantages. maintaining the position they have already occupied.
“Digitization” aims at continuous improvement as well as the transformation of business functions, processes and models for the most efficient use of data and information for critical decision making. Obviously, this is done through advanced technologies that when are fully utilized, contribute to the reliability and efficiency. This paper studies the range of technologies as well as the readiness - maturity of Greek shipping companies in the adoption of digitization.
