This thesis entitled “Compliance” is an attempt to document the special features and importance of Compliance for companies in the modern environment. Companies today are required to meet the high demands of legislative and regulatory authorities as well as society itself. Ethical culture is now part of business strategy and is crucial to maintaining company’s reputation. Ensuring the functioning of an effective internal control system is not only a legal obligation for regulated companies but a necessity to ensure the stability, viability, and development for the companies which must operate in a highly competitive, globalized, environment, with ever-increasing risks.
The process of Compliance as part of the broader Corporate Governance (GRC) mechanism and internal control, aims to reduce and manage risk through a system of rules, principles, and policies, which will ensure the protection of all stakeholders and will go hand in hand with business strategies. The role of the Compliance Officer who will be called upon to operate an effective compliance system is raised to an important position within the company. In addition to regulated companies, for many companies, especially multinationals, monitoring the regulatory framework and its changes and assessing how they may affect the company, is an important information for the board and for managing the compliance risk.
