Last few years there has been an ever-increasing trend of stores having a digital presence on the internet and selling their products through an online store. At the same time some price comparison websites have made their appearance, and so the consumer now has the power to compare prices for the same product off all competitors of a store nationwide. This results on consumers usually choosing the store with the lowest price. This leads to great competition between stores, who have to reduce their profit margins if they want to be competitive to gain have a spot in the market share.
This problem is more apparent in rural cities, as the small local market can not meet the needs of the consumers, who will either prefer to buy the products they are interested in online, or will go to a nearby larger city to do so. That is because in both cases, they will have a greater variety of products to choose from and will find what they need. Many times, however, they prefer for their own convenience to also buy the products that they can find in their city, because of one of the 2 ways that we mentioned. So the shops in his city are not particularly strengthened to become competitive, but often lead to closure.
The purpose of this study is to create an infrastructure that will try to make the consumer of a city, to prefer as much as possible the local market for the products that interest him. To achieve this we will develop a rewards system (Loyalty system) in which all stores in the city will participate.
