The present thesis is about communication in Smart Networks (SG) with Internet of Things (IoT) technology. Communication is the backbone of all applications and technologies in the Smart Network. However, the main challenge in communicating smart networks is to link heterogeneous distributed data. Middleware works as a service and software application inter-face in the communication architecture to facilitate this interaction by concealing the complexity of the operating system for application software developers. Based on the characteristics of the applications, interoperability enables communication and technologies to help the smart grid to produce the intelligence of the system. The most effective interoperability and connec-tion infrastructure is the Internet of Things (IoT) features which when combined with the Smart Grid helps it achieve the provision of two-way electricity and information flow in the power grid. In the postgraduate work, a detailed review of the existing literature will be carried out, The main IoT communication protocols for SGs will be studied, evaluated and compared and given fu-ture directions on this research topic.
