Nowadays, distance learning, an alternative form of learning, provided by the use of new technologies matters significantly in the educational and learning process.
In many occasions and for long periods of time, it replaced face-to-face learning, when the state had to impose the suspension of operation of all educational institutions, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and therefore it became the main learning source.
The topic of this paper “ Comparative Analysis of distance learning” because it is extremely topical and it becomes necessary to identify any problems that exist in order to take measures for improvements and corrections in the implementation of distance learning. An attempt is made through a bibliographic review to clarify the concepts related to the two forms of learning, to analyze the educational tools of the internet, the teaching methods as well as their disadvantages and advantages in order to make a comparison between them.
In addition, the present study was based on the use of a questionnaire on a sample of 104 teachers. The aim of the research effort is to investigate the attitudes and perceptions of teachers regarding the necessity, usefulness, efficiency of distance learning and its comparison with face to face education.
Key conclusions drawn are that face to face education is clearly more cost-effective than distance learning, that teachers are not adequately trained by public bodies and that even greater efforts are needed on the part of the state and teachers to integrate and contribute to it, so that e-learning is successfully implemented.
