The financial crisis that hit Greece the past decade has led to the widespread prevalence of the minimum wage in the labor market, especially for new entrants. The purpose of this research paper is to study the data related to the level of salaries of IEK graduates in the midst of the financial crisis, and to examine whether holding an IEK degree could secure a higher wage rather than the minimum wage. Furthermore, it is being examined the possible contribution of individual factors on the amount of wage of IEK graduates. The relevant research was conducted through a structured questionnaire with closed-ended questions. The results indicated that the degree of IEK contributed in securing higher wage compared to the minimum wage. Also, results showed that factors such as gender, work experience which precedes studies and the possession of a higher education degree could significantly impact the wage level of IEK graduates. Contrary, this research found that the subject of the degree and its relevance with the job position, did not significantly affect the subsequent pay of the graduates.
