This dissertation was prepared with the aim of exploring questions concerning the philosophy, role and participation of the OECD in international developments in the field of Education Policy.
An attempt is made to highlight on the one hand the international context in which the OECD formulates its Educational Policy, in the light of the neoliberal principles that govern the Organization, and on the other hand the collaborations it develops with other international organizations.
The research then focuses on the OECD work on skills - in particular student skills - which are considered a prerequisite for young people in order to be able to respond to the challenges and demands of the modern ever-changing era. The skills acquired in school are related to the quality of the education provided.
At the same time, this study seeks to highlight the OECD impact on national policies and especially on Greek education policy, through the presentation of the new legislation that entered into force for the first time the current school year.
