A primary marketing analysis, in order to further form a complete marketing plan in the future, in the name of a new pharmaceutical company which aims at developing and trading drug device combination product for inhalation use, is made in this thesis. For that reason, information of pharmaceutical industries, globally, is collected. Moreover, social, financial and demographic elements related with the state of health in Greece are also presented. Based on literature, information on pulmonary diseases, mechanism of action of drugs used for their treatment and formulation of inhalers is also provided. The digital presence of pharmaceutical companies and the way this helps to the promotion and advertisement of the company is examined. Additionally to the website of the company and its presence in social media, the effect of augmented and virtual reality is mentioned together with other digital approaches which lead to personalized treatment.
A questionnaire is distributed to pharmacists (owner of pharmacies) or their employees through e-platforms in order to investigate the most popular digital way of promoting and advertising a company, which basic product is an inhalation device. Its digital presence is related with the website, the social media and possible advertisement of products by using new technologies e.g. augmented reality. Furthermore, the difficulties the patients face during use of inhalation devices are also examined.
