The present dissertation studies the major issue of Green ship recycling and the possible benefits of the implementation of this dismantling method for the society, the environment and the shipping industry, in general. Lately, the ship dismantling industry is challenged by the need of seeking alternative methods of dismantlement with the ultimate goal of protecting the environment and the workers of this industry. Therefore, the goal of the dissertation is to feature the framework within which the dismantling operation takes place globally and recommend methods of dissolution which are in accordance with the international regulations and they aim at the protection of the environment and workers’ safety simultaneously.
