On the issue of increased health care spending, there is a talk about the detrimental impact that it has on economic and health systems. Public health expenditures are financed by the Gross Domestic Product and for this reason this dissertation analyzes and presents the relationship between these two sizes. In order to evaluate the health systems economically, macroeconomic indicators have been taken into consideration.
As we analyze and present the data, we observe the timeless increase of public health expenditures, the increase of private expenditures, the impact of the economic crisis on the health systems all over the European Union and that the economically developed countries within the E.U., occupy the first places in the corresponding list of percentage expenditures for public health on GDP.
