Abstract
The purpose of this MSc thesis is to develop, design and implement an information system that will support the existing Greek pre-hospital medical care system. The information system consists of two separate applications (mobile and web-app) that simulate the operation of the National Emergency Service Center (NESC) and the ambulances. This is an innovative effort to effectively manage the resources of the hospital health system using ICT. The web application has been implemented in the front-end using React and provides the NESC call center with the ability to immediately and effectively select an ambulance to dispatch to the emergency site. The Android application is implemented for mobile devices and consists a set of 'smart' features that provide the ambulance rescue team with the ability to deliver high quality medical services to patients as well as efficient transportation to the appropriate hospital. Both applications use a common database that allows them to share system information.
