Before analyzing and conceptually and semantically approaching the term of valuation, the value of an enterprise, as well as its determinants, is conceptually explained. This is an analysis carried out under the first chapter of the bibliographic review of this diploma thesis.
The second chapter presents the concept of valuation as well as its importance. In addition, the areas highlighted in the context of the process of evaluating a business unit and which are directly related to the goals and objectives set by the analyst are mentioned.
An analysis of the individual valuation methods most commonly used in the business world, as well as the calculation methods and their effects, including their advantages and disadvantages on the value of the business under consideration, is then carried out.
Subsequently, the valuation of ELVALCHALCOR SA is carried out. Apart from the brief and comprehensive presentation of the characteristics of both the industry and the company, its main historical financial figures are presented, which will help in the valuation process and give a first insight into its course and market position.
