This study aims to create a playful learning environment that will be able to cultivate and enhance 21st century skills in toddlers and more specifically skills related to spoken word, collaboration, problem solving and computational thinking.
For the purposes of the thesis, an educational intervention based on robotics, augmented reality elements and challenge-based learning theory was designed and implemented, incorporating the "six thinking hats" strategy, 5W1H and appropriate play elements. This educational activity was carried out on 21 kindergarten students with voluntary participation.
The analysis of this study was performed by qualitative analysis of the data, through participatory observation, observer's questionnaire and children's drawings. The analysis of the results showed that the contribution of this educational intervention to the cultivation and reinforcement of 21st century skills in preschool children was important.
The main contribution of this research thesis is to design an educational intervention that combines robotics and augmented reality elements, tailored to the needs of preschool children. The need for kindergarten students to be in touch with modern forms of technology is revealed through this study and is now considered imperative because they are capable of developing and enhancing important skills for young pupils.
