The diploma thesis refers to renewable energy sources – forecasts which are produced
from natural resources such as wind, sunlight, rain, tides and geothermal heat.
Renewable energy sources are wind energy, biomass, geothermal energy, solar
energy, ocean - wave energy and hydroelectric power.
In the beginning, at the first chapter, this thesis presents the renewable energy sources
by describing their categories. Moreover, presents the characteristics of standard
energy sources and analyzes the differences with renewable sources.
At the next chapters, from second to seventh, a more comprehensive analysis of the
mechanisms, characteristics, advantages and disadvantages as well the usage of each
renewable energy resource is presented. This analysis helps us better understand its
source and its potentials that can offer to humanity in the future.
The following chapters present the finance aspect of renewable energy sources, the
investment costs and special conditions. There is an analysis of the advantages and
disadvantages and their impact to economies that choose to invest at renewable
energy sources.
At the end, there is a sum up of all the benefits of renewable energy sources and
conclusion statements of their present condition but also their future development.
