The thesis work provides a detailed account of some incidents which have occurredand led to the creation - enrichment of ISM and ISPS codes. The Codes are presentedfor the purposes, definitions, objectives and difficulties encountered in theirimplementation. The internal audit procedure on a vessel is analyzed too and whetherthe shipping company has to comply with the regulations of the ISM and ISPS code.This thesis presents the people who are involved in the internal audit process and stepby step its process itself. This thesis could not lack the role of the designated personashore and his role in the shipping company. To sum up, there is a conclusion of thisthesis and the difficulties encountered in its creation are presented too
