Abstract

We examine a duopoly model of firms of mixed ownership. No firm can produce all varieties demanded and price competition is carried out applying spatial discrimination. The common variety being heterogeneous, production cost as well as transportation cost are different. We prove that the Nash equilibrium locations are socially optimal.
