Abstract

This thesis deals with the issue of finance and investment projects undertaken by a business in order to achieve the development of entrepreneurship in an economy. The first chapter introduces the concept of entrepreneurship and framework and gives a picture of how much developed entrepreneurship is in the European Union. Next, the barriers to financing entrepreneurship are analyzed, which plays a very significant role in the development of the economy of a country, and in particular in our country, which has been analyzed over time to date. The next chapter introduces the concept of an investment plan, categorizes the investments and presents the investment valuation methods giving the benefits and disadvantages of each method, while the fourth and fifth chapter discuss about the small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and the finance of them. Particularly, the traditional and alternative forms of financing for an SME are examined, as well as the reasons why an SME seeks funding. The next two chapters examine the economic parameters that contribute to the growth of entrepreneurship in a country, through empirical analysis from a specific sample of European countries, followed by the conclusions drawn from the analysis of the above chapters.
