Without any doubt every organization, like every group, requires some kind of leadership. Motivated employees are one of the key achievements of effective leadership. In today's global and competitive environment, an effective leadership style is essential for the sustainability and the future of every organization. Leadership and motivation are important and interactive elements in management. However, achieving organizational goals is not enough to motivate employees. Transformational leadership is a theory, where the leader works with the organization's teams to identify the necessary changes, creating a new vision to guide change. Transformational leadership reinforces the motivation, ethics, and performance-efficiency of followers' work through various mechanisms. Followers are called upon to take on greater responsibilities with confidence in their work and to understand their strengths and weaknesses, allowing the leader to align them with their tasks while improving their performance. The purpose of the present analysis is to investigate transformational leadership, and employees’ motivation in particular with the help of models and theories such as SDT. To this end, and with the use of a questionnaire, a survey and a case study of these trends were conducted in the pharmaceutical industry in our country. The results of the research showed a great correlation between transformational leadership and self-determination in the industry.
