The aim of the present assignment was to examine the factors that influence the application of the clawback and rebate gauge in the Greek pharmaceutical market. Clawback and rebate belong to the category of the government and political interventions for rationalization, better control and reduction of the pharmaceutical expenditures. In order to meet the research objectives, four different interviews have been conducted. The respondents were executives working in pharmaceutical companies mainly engaged in the Greek pharmaceutical market. The results of the scientific research showed that the application of the clawback and rebate gauge in Greece were executed in a hurry. This was due to the urgent needs that recession caused, making it unable to sufficiently adopt to the needs specific features of the Greek pharmaceutical market. This has also caused many problems in the function of the pharmaceutical companies. The problem became more acute if the contribution of the pharmaceutical sector in employment and taxation is reckon in. Therefore, a readjustment of clawback and rebate is needed in order to function in benefit of the patients, companies and every occupation involved with the pharmaceutical market.
