The purpose of this diploma thesis is to apply measurement indicators regarding the regional distribution of the population and therefore the changes observed therein. Initially, concepts of the population geography, as well as human geography, are introduced, while the mathematical formulas of the indices of population disparity are presented in detail. Next, the form of the data used in the diploma thesis is explained as it is from the 2001 census and then the results of the analysis and application of the indicators are presented, through the help of the spreadsheets. Additionally, the peculiarities and sensitivity of these indicators are analyzed, according to the number of the studied regional unit. In conclusion and on the basis of the results, as the number of spatial units being studied increases, the higher is the size of the disparities in the population under study.
