Abstract

The penetration into everyday people’s life of technology as well as the proliferation of different devices with computing capabilities (computers, tablets, smart phones, etc.) facilitate the creation of notes among other functionalities. Τhe creation of notes is possible using either applications either embedded in the Operating System, or commercially available or open source applications. Applications now have several functions for writing and organizing notes, integrating multimedia (e.g. images, videos, formatted text, etc.). Having pure understanding of the possibilities of modern note creation applications but also people’s needs for mobility and collaboration, this postgraduate thesis focuses on developing an application for Android mobile phones introducing two innovations: 1. Users can create a note while saving the exact location where the note was created 2. The user can share this note with one or more other users of the application. Each of them can add their own comments to it.
