Direct foreign investment in Bulgaria - A case study of Staff & Co Jeans

Abstract
The aim of this dissertation is the study of Foreign Direct Investments (FDI) in Bulgaria. This country is one of the most important and popular destinations in terms of attracting investment funds and has established itself as a top AKA recipient. This great flourishing of the FDI was accompanied by strong economic growth and by a large opening to the rest of the world. But in order for an enterprise to decide on a foreign investment, it should take into account the many factors that will determine the final choice. All of the above is analyzed in detail in the case of Bulgaria. But before we look at the main part, let's briefly look at how the thesis is structured.
In the first chapter are presented some general elements that apply to SAs. Reference is made to the definition, to the types and incentives they offer, and to alternative ways of internationalizing business activity outside FDI’s.
In the second chapter are presented some elements for the AWUs. worldwide, resulting from the last two world reports on ACS. carried out by UNCTAD (United Nations Conference on Trade and Development). The trends and prospects as well as the course of the FDI are listed. in the last year. At this point we will look at the key benefits of investment.
In the third chapter we will study the promoters and the selection criteria of the place of establishment of enterprises. We will take a closer look at the deployment phases as well as the location effects (host country).
The fourth chapter refers more specifically to Bulgaria's economic environment and its presentation as a host country.
Finally, the fifth, sixth and seventh chapters will deal with the case study of STAFF & CO JEANS and will thoroughly study the history of its relocation to Bulgaria its new name as Index and will analyze in depth the financial statements and current legislation in Bulgaria, then the findings from the study will be presented.
