Abstract

With the rise of Web 2.0, choices are in abundance, so the need to filter,sort and deliver information efficiently, minimizing the problem of surplusing information. Recommendation engines solve this problem, searching through a vast ammount of produced information and providing users with personalised services and content. Aim of this thesis is to study the different predicting methods in suggestion systems, focusing in collaborative filtering, simulating their functioning, the problems and the challenges that rise through this functioning and proposing solutions if possible.
