Abstract

The present post graduate thesis aims at designing, developing and presenting a web application, which satisfies user needs regarding medicine and health. By using the aforementioned application, registered users are able to create and edit their profile and medical record, as well as get informed about various medical news via suggested articles that are relevant to the medical profile formed by themselves. Recording and maintaining a medical profile is one of the important functionalities provided, which helps users always have a clear and complete picture of their history. Another important functionality is the presence of forecasts – calculated by specially trained doctors and application administrators – regarding disease inheritance, based on relations stated among users. Finally, the application comes with a content management system, which can be used by administrators in order to create and modify articles, diseases and users. There are two application versions that were developed: web version and android version. The android version is developed by Evangelos Kitsoulis (MPPL 15028) and presented in his own dissertation.
