Abstract

The main goal of this diploma thesis is to develop an application on Android mobile operating system that focuses on managing and organizing the innumerable information which a person receives on a daily basis. More specifically, this document describes this need and propose a possible solution which concern the education sector and particular the student community as it attempts to solve the need of management of the notes which receive the students of an educational institution. This area of education has not been chosen by chance but instead is the most representative community in which this problem of managing and organizing information is a daily need of its members. So the application which built for this purpose is about a note application where users can record and share notes in real-time. These functions are offered to the user through a friendly and easy for using environment. The Interested users can enter both text and images related to their note and with a touch of a button can post it and make it visible to everyone. Furthermore, the application gives the possibility of updating a note by her author and it also offers notifications to the interested users both at a specific level referring to a particular note and at general regarding to a whole note category. Finally, concerning to the functionality of the application, it is offered beyond the view of the note, the storage of it which has registered by other users. This diploma thesis, however, does not only describe the functional capabilities of this application but also focuses on its technical implementation. It presents in detail the technologies used for its construction and makes reference to similar applications developed in Greece and abroad. In closing, it refers to the conclusions that emerged in its development so as to give a full picture to its readers about the problem that it was called upon to deal with.
