In the present paper, attempt to exanimate about the International Shipbuilding Industry, focusing
on Greece predominate or lags behind the ship repair activity in Turkey and Romania (Case
study). Firstly, the analysis ranges both history worldwide and in Greece, as it is important to be
known the development and progress, until today. Subsequently, reference is made to
international shipbuilding and thus recording all yards worldwide. The shipbuilding industry
includes several sectors, which are of major importance in one for both the industry itself and for
the economy of a country, as is the area of repair and ship scrapping. Moreover, the human factor
and the workforce is among the most important factors, because without it, there couldn’t be no
economy and therefore no shipbuilding. However, this may turn against health or employment,
when that low costs and high profits are of primary importance. Furthermore, reference is made
to the factors that directly affect the demand for new construction, whose turn to be a chain,
where the fall in one sector can mean an increase in another. The expectations of ship owners and
what it can finally happen make the shipping cycle unpredictable. Finally, a comparative study is
recorded of the shipbuilding industry activity and three countries by focusing on Greece, which
will clarify in which part outweigh the other, despite the relatively new involvement (timely)
with the subject, always in relation to Greece.
