Abstract
The iron ore market and its logistics chain have a prominent position among bulk cargoes. The types of iron ore, its production methods, the mining companies and the ports of loading form the supply side. On the demand side, there are the ports and the countries which are importing the iron ore. Intermediary bodies are the ships. Based on this interaction of supply and demand, we also analyze the volumes of freight and the handling of iron ore in the harbors in order to understand as much as possible this huge market that makes iron ore as the second largest commodity after oil.
