The health sector employs a great deal of human capital, making it an important part of the country's economic activity. The peculiar nature of providing health services combined with the complex and multi-layered work structure, through a high level of technological applications, makes the work environment of a Nursing Institution complex.
The workplace, both in terms of organization and operation, presents numerous occupational health hazards to workers' health and safety. This paper deals with health and safety issues of health professionals. It consists of a bibliographic review and an exploratory study.
The bibliographic review of recent bibliographic references presents (a) the recorded and emerging risks according to the European Risk Observatory by the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work, the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work, (b) the strategic policy framework comprising a set of legislative provisions and providing common definitions, structures and other institutions while ensuring an equivalent level throughout the European Union, (c) the economic impact of the of hazardous because it affects many different areas of society.
The exploratory study concerns the subjective assessment of the employees of the Nursing Institutions of all specialties and educational levels, for the occupational hazards present in the Occupational Hospital environment.
