The topic of this paper is the motives offered in the workplace as well as the evaluation systems as integral parts of the human resources of an enterprise. The importance of these topics is due to the connection between the motivation and evaluation systems and the productivity at the workplace.
The motivational theories explain the factors that drive people to be more productive. It is a common place that there is not only one correct theory of motivation but every theory examines different part of the phenomenon. In this paper is underlined that motives have a central role in the motivational theories as well as that motivational theories have been criticized for not taking into consideration important factors such as cultural differences.
As far as the evaluation systems are concerned, they are very important because they lead to promotions and dismissals. Today the majority of enterprises use the evaluation systems with mixed results as the problems of evaluation can not be ignored.
At the first chapter of this paper an analysis of the human resources administration and its individual functions is presented. At the second chapter an extensive analysis of the human resources motivational theories and the motives used by the managers are presented. At the fourth chapter the evaluation systems are presented as well as their purpose at an enterprise and the problems that can result from them.
